MAINTAINING SECURITY DURING MAJOR CONSTRUCTION
During the various phases of their new construction and remodeling projects, St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California found itself in a difficult situation from a hospital security standpoint. Most importantly, several cameras needed to be moved and relocated in order to avoid an interruption in security. Additionally, they needed ongoing maintenance of commercial locking hardware along with the everyday services that were already provided. Patient safety and security were of utmost importance, as were physician and employee accessibility.
As a partner with St. Jude and Mission for over 15 years, Community Commercial Security offered several suggestions in order to make the transition a smooth one. Our priority was that there be no breach in security during the process.
In order to ensure accuracy in our recommendation, we consulted with all involved parties. In addition to referencing the blueprints and architect specs, we met with the general contractor and hospital facilities manager.
Working together with the general contractor and facilities manager, it was decided that the best course of action would be to install door control systems, ADA fire-rated hardware, cabinet and desk locks, access control systems, CCTV systems, video surveillance, plus many of the locks were rekeyed and high security key controls were added. Moreover, a technician is on site daily in order to quickly and efficiently handle anything that might need attention.
Benefits and Results:
Community Commercial Security is a reputable and licensed business that consistently focuses on customer satisfaction and a commitment to accessible customer service; thus, there is a dedicated service technician on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or as mentioned above, a technician on site at all times. We proud to provide Orange County security solutions to our trusted medical facilities.
Since installing the new security measures, St. Jude Medical Center has noted that they feel more secure during the construction process. Their enhanced system has helped them to get a better grasp on security in their ever-changing environments.
